Add chicken salt pepper onion powder and garlic powder to the Instant Pot. If youre going to be cooking skin-on chicken thighs in the Instant Pot youll want to first brown the skin side using the saute function on the Instant Pot.
Place the steamer rack in the instant pot see notes pour in the chicken broth and place the seasoned chicken breasts on the rack.
How to cook chicken in instant pot. Sprinkle any desired seasoning over the top of the chicken. To do this first season the skin as desired and pour a little oil into the inner pot. Put the trivet or a steamer basket.
Pour the thin liquid into the liner of the Instant Pot. Salsa chicken is also super easy to make in the oven. Simply place the meat in the liquid with as little overlapping as possible.

Pressure cook on HIGH raw chicken for 12 minutes and frozen chicken. For fresh chicken tenders cook on manual HIGH for 3 minutes followed by a 6 minute NPR. Place the frozen chicken breasts in the Instant Pot inner pot.

Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the sealing position. When you are ready to cook your chicken leg quarters place 1 cup of water in the liner of the Instant Pot. Place in instant pot.
Using the manual function cook for 7 minutes at high pressure and then quick release the pressure. Coat with taco seasoning then bake at 450ºF for 15-20 minutes or until cooked to 165ºF. When the chicken is done cooking allow the Instant Pot to do a quick release of the pressure by turning the valve to the VENTING position.
